Metal Gear Solid rebooted!

Well this is a right plum do! The yearly Video Game Awards over in that America surprised a few chaps with this blind-siding news. The next Metal Gear Solid game is striking out in a different direction. What was a conventional sequel is no longer being developed by Kojima Productions (who code all the main Metal Gear titles) and has been passed to Bayonetta and Vanquish developer Platinum Games.

And unsurprisingly, they've Bayonetta and Vanquished it right up! Now, it's an all-action, slash-happy, high-energy ode to evisceration starring a man in platform heels with a tin chin and blow-dried hair. We're not saying this is a bad thing, mind. Bayonetta and Vanquish are fine games. It's just all gone a bit off-your-tits-in-a-German-techno-club. With a samurai sword. Have a look at the vid. You'll see what we mean.
