First look: Derek
It's fair to say Ricky Gervais' post-Office projects have been a bit hit-and-miss. They've gone from the good (Extras) to the bad (Life's Too Short) and now it looks like we're neatly onto the ugly with 'Derek.'
This one-off show sees Gervais take on the title role and play a kind-hearted odd-ball who works in an old folks home. You may also notice from the above teaser that Karl Pilkington co-stars as a moody northern bloke. Really pushing the boundaries there, then! The show itself is actually pretty sweet and far gentler than any of Gervais' previous ego trips. Well worth a watch when it comes on Channel 4 on Thursday 12 April!
