The abandoned match between England and Poland might have given us a few things to laugh about (Roy Hodgson refusing to use an umbrella so he didn't look like a wally with a brolly, the curse if ITV's coverage of England continuing, the referee checking that the pitch was definitely waterlogged for the tenth time), but the fact that officials didn't step in and close the roof seemed baffling to us.
