Mark Wahlberg plays a bodybuilder who's seen too many films and reckons he can pull off a kidnapping scam with the help of pacifist ex-con Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. With tongue firmly in cheek the new action comedy from Michael Bay comes across like Bad Boys meets The Other Guys but, bizarrely, it's based on the true story of a bungled extortion plot back in 1995 and we very much like!
Wahlberg is set to star in Bay's Transformers 4 and with this 21 Jump Street-style slapstick actioner it looks like the Pearl Harbour director has hit a homer with a melee of goofy gags and explosions.
Also starring John Turturro and Ed Harris, Pain and Gain is in UK cinemas May 3rd.
