Rik Mayall England song
Next year will see legendary English comedian Rik Mayall release his "Official, Unofficial England Anthem" for the 2010 World Cup.
With Fabio Capello reportedly wanting a ban on England's team recording a song for the tournament, Mayall has stepped unto the breech, with a Shakespeare-influenced number.
'Noble England' – which we have yet to hear as it's being kept under wraps for now – apparently "blends an essence of Englishness with Rik Mayall's deliverance of an adapted speech from the famous passage in Shakespeare's 'Henry V'". All with a football chant to back it up, naturally.
"Football chants are one of the great traditions of following football," says Rik, "And Shakespeare is also part of our national heritage. It seemed only natural that they should go together."
Listen out for it in the build up to the World Cup!
