There can't be many people who wouldn't agree that Spain were worthy winners of Euro 2008 and they gave Germany a football masterclass in Vienna on Sunday night. The 1-0 scoreline doesn't even tell half the story and three or four nil wouldn't have flattered them.
I said at the start of Euro 2008 that I had a feeling for Spain this year and although no-one can get carried away with the Germans lurking in the wings, I'm sticking with my prediction. It's tough to shake off a reputation as perennial underachievers but this time they just might do it.
Everyone's still talking about Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Man United but I think the speculation about Ronaldinho and where he'll be playing next season is just as intriguing. The signs are he's heading to the Premier League and it looks like Man City and Chelsea are in the front of the queue at the moment.
Like the majority of United fans, I've got to admit I'm disappointed with the way Cristiano Ronaldo has allowed the recent speculation about a move to Real Madrid to run and run. It's not his fault the media have got their teeth into the story but he could have easily nipped it in the bud by now.
I don't think there could have been many fans who were surprised when the news that Avram Grant had been been sacked by Chelsea filtered through on Saturday. It was the worst kept secret in football and you got the feeling that Grant knew it as well.
