Tried and Tested Winner:
Shockwaves 'Ultimate Effects' go matt clay
Hair clay
This week we've rounded up a pile of different hair clays and put them through our straight-talking, stringent panel of testers who have applyed, tousled, sniffed, peered at and groped (crikey!) their way through the lot to tell you which ones are worth shelling out for.
Why is this the winner?
I like the packaging - it's not too loaud. It goes on suprisingly naturally and I think it's really good value for money. It offers just the exact hold that I need for my hair that's hard to control .

Lee Stafford AS Ruff AS YOU LIKE hair clay
It's got a spot on, firm texture to the clay, but the packaging is bright blinking pink! I kept it hidden away on my shelf! However, this is the best clay around that I've found - and it's cheap!

Trevor Sorbie professional MG male grooming clay
This clay smells great and the texture is fine when it's warmed up. It washes out easier than wax. I'd use this again, I like the smell and it does the job.

Kevin. Murphy Gritty. Business
It styled my hair well. It's a bit pricy though, it's smart packaging as well.

Brylcreem styling clay
I think this is really good value for money, it lasts a long time, and the sinple and sylish silver packaging looks great.
