What is MyNuts?

It's a new part of nuts.co.uk which will make it easy to upload photographs, find videos, make friends, give your opinion and get more out of your visit to nuts.co.uk

How do I look at photographs?

You can see the most recent galleries on the welcome page or see the highest rated photos by clicking on the Most Rated link in the grey bar near the top of the page. You can also upload your own photographs.

How do I upload my photos to the site?

The first thing you need to do is register with the Nuts website. If you've used the site in the past, either to enter a competition, or post on our forums you will have a username and password. If you've never used the site before click here to register and you can get started straight away.

Once you've registered for the site, login to MyNuts and click on the tab called photos, which is next to profile and video. Once the page loads you can click on 'Create a new album' and upload the pictures to your page on the site.

To make it easier for you to manage your photos we've limited the number you can upload at once. If you want to add more than five photos to a gallery, don't worry it's easy.

How do I upload more than five photos to a gallery?

Upload the first five pictures into your gallery. Once you are happy with those click on the Edit Album link and add more photos by browsing for them on your computer and then uploading them to your MyNuts page.

How do I delete a photo from one of my galleries?

Find the album that contains the image you wish to delete and click on the link to edit that album. Once the edit screen loads check the tick boxes next to any images you wish to remove and then click save changes at the foot of the page.

What are image tags?

These are a way for visitors to the site to find similar images. If your images are tagged John, beach, football, the site will link those images to other people's pictures which have also been tagged John, beach or football. This functionality will evolve but for now think of tags as a description of the main features in an image or video.

Why haven't my photos appeared on the site?

All of the photos on MyNuts are approved by people who work on Nuts. This means that at busy times there will be a delay before the photos you add appear on the live website. Our image moderators work Monday to Friday 9:00 to 5:30. You will still be able to see the images and you can edit the galleries and image names while you are waiting for approval.

Why do you moderate the photos?

There are at least two good reasons. The team on Nuts are always looking for gorgeous models, funny images and things to make us grin. By looking at each image before it appears on the site you can be certain that someone on the Nuts editorial team will have seen your images. The second reason for moderating the images is to ensure that there are no images which are unsuitable, or upsetting for our users (we know it's hard to believe but spammers are sometimes a bit cheeky!)

Someone has posted an image on the site for which they do not have the copyright owner's permission. What should I do?

We take this very seriously. If you see an image on the website that you know has been posted without the copyright holder's permission, click on the notify moderator button, explain why you feel the image should be removed and one of our moderators will look at the image as soon as possible.

Someone has posted an image of me on the site without my permission, what should I do?

We take this very seriously. If you see an image of yourself on the website, and you didn't give permission for it to be posted, click on the notify moderator button. Explain why you are brining it to the attention of our moderator and someone will remove it asap.

There is an image on the website that I think is inappropriate what should I do?

If you see an image on the website that is inappropriate, click on the notify moderator button, explain why you feel the image should be removed and one of our moderators will look at the image as soon as possible

There's a comment I don't like on one of my galleries what should I do?

It's easy to remove comments, if there is a persistent problem, or someone is breaking the terms and conditions, you should click the notify moderator button and one of the moderators will take a look.

There's a comment on a gallery that is inappropriate, what should I do?

If you see a comment which you think is inappropriate you should click on the notify moderator button in the comments. One of our moderation team will investigate

How do I upload a video to my profile?

All of the videos on MyNuts are hosted on YouTube.com. Uploading is simple but you will need a (free) Youtube account. If you don't have a YouTube account go to: www.youtube.com/signup and sign up, it will only take two minutes.

Once you have activated your YouTube account upload your video(s) and you will be ready to 'pull' them into your page at MyNuts. This process is described below in the adding content from YouTube

How do I add content from YouTube to MyNuts?

Make sure you are logged into MyNuts, then click on the video tab (which is the third from the left in the panel of five near the top of the screen). After the list of videos which you have already uploaded you will see the YouTube Video selector.

You can use this to search for videos you've uploaded to YouTube, or any of the videos on YouTube which have been uploaded by others.

Once you've found the video you are interested in you can either watch it in the MyNuts page, or click on the 'add to my videos' link to add it to your videos

How do I remove a video that I'm bored of?

It's easy, just click on the video tab to bring up a list of all your videos. Click on the picture of the video that you are bored of. Once it loads there will be a link in the centre (underneath the video player) which says 'Delete this video' All you have to do is click on that link!

I can't see the YouTube Video Selector on the video page of MyNuts.

Are you logged into MyNuts? Look at the blue box on the right hand side of the screen near the top. Is your profile information in the box? If not, you need to login before you can select videos.

How do I get a video removed?

All the videos are hosted by YouTube. Visit the YouTube Abuse and Policy Centre at: www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/topic.py?topic=13044

What are friends?

These are people who share your interests - or that you find attractive or amusing!

Why would I want to make friends with people?

If you are friends with people on the site you'll find it easier to keep up to date with pictures they've posted, videos they've found or comments that they've made.

How do I add people to my friends list?

Login to My Nuts and then click on the person's name that you want to make friends with. Next to their name you will see a link which says 'Add to my friends'. Click on that link and wait for your new friend to confirm that they want to be friends with you.
