Llamadas 2007 - Montevideo
Las llamadas is a competition amongst Uruguay's best candombe groups. Candombe originates from the days of African slave labour and the only way the slaves were allowed to celebrate were by playing drums. It has since become embraced into the culture of Uruguay and the llamadas now includes dancers and of course the drummers along with a whole lot more.
